Las Vegas police shooting: Shocking video shows state troopers shooting unarmed man hitchhiker

Dramatic footage posted online shows state troopers shooting and killing an unarmed hitchhiker on a lonely Nevada highway 20 miles outside of Las Vegas, last Friday.

The bystander video obtained by the Las Vegas Review-Journal shows police attempting to detain D’Andre Berghart, who was reportedly harassing passing bicyclists and vehicles.

Having stopped traffic and standing in the middle of the road, the officers appear to be speaking with the 20-year-old for much of the seven minute-long clip.

Rather than quickly detaining him, though, the officers appear to allow the erratically-behaving Berghart to wander around.

At one point an officer is seen angrily kicking Berghart, who responds by attempting to punch him back.

Soon after, the incredibly odd standoff, quickly became deadly.

Berghart is seen making a beeline for one of the responding officer’s vehicles and reportedly grabbed for the officer’s AR-15 assault rifle, which was locked in a gun rack.
The officers, fearing for their life, unloaded their weapons, firing roughly 10 rounds into Berghart.
